Quebec Street is a renovation of a Vancouver Special that balances contemporary improvements with the home’s original character. Brick cladding, an emblematic of the Vancouver Special, is reinterpreted on the front façade to seamlessly connect the entry and upper deck railing into a single design gesture, adding depth to the front elevation. A lighter material and colour palette refresh the 1980s sensibility, bringing a sense of clarity and cohesion throughout the house. Coloured glass blocks at the entry reflects the home’s era, with an 8×8 grid carried through in the tile selectionsThe floor plan has been reconfigured to improve circulation and strengthen connections to both the front and rear yards, enhancing natural light, views, and the overall flow of daily living.
